What an awesome picnic we had on Sunday 26th. The weather was beautiful and the number of members in attendance was up there. At one point before lunch there was 11 boats in the pond! We had a few close calls, but no accidents thankfully. We came dockside for lunch around 12:30pm, and members and guests had pizza, brownies and soda/water provided by the club.
We closed off around 2pm. Thanks to those who attended and big thanks to Doug for setting up his canopy. Our next picnic is on September 16th.

I've been a bit lax on this blog, apologies. We've had about 7 sailing weekends so far and a few new boats on the pond. But, surprisingly, many the new models are micro sized! A club member has been 3D printing on request, 1/18 scale micro Springer tugs. A Q1 tug made it's debut last weekend also, these 2 are about the same size. It's cool to see them buzzing around the bigger boats.
The pond where we sail (Bowne Park), filtration system hasn't worked for the summer as such, we've be sailing in a sea of green, lots of algae. Well got word yesterday that it's finally back in operation! |
